Roborax’s India workforce is drawn from three pools: BPO-trained operators with 2–5 years of experience who upskill into data annotation; fresh graduates from regional engineering and arts colleges who train into the data tier; and dedicated ML annotation specialists who handle complex multimodal labeling, action segmentation, and reward annotation work.
Operators work in pods of 12–25 led by a team leader with annotation experience, with a QA layer running gold-set audits on 5–10% of throughput. Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, and Punjabi coverage is available across the network — useful when a robot deployment needs voice prompts, sign reading, or scene narration in regional Indian languages.
India enacted the Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP Act) in 2023, establishing consent-based data processing, 72-hour breach notification, and data principal rights broadly aligned with GDPR. Roborax India operations are DPDP compliant by default and ISO 27001-certified at the facility level.
Cross-border data transfer to customers in the US, EU, UK, or elsewhere is handled through documented data processing agreements that satisfy both Indian and customer-side requirements. For customers with HIPAA, SOC 2 Type II, or vertical-specific compliance needs, bridge agreements align India operations with onshore US or UK standards for any data that cannot leave a specific jurisdiction.
